Ragging:

RVS Padmavathi Ammal College of Pharmacy strictly prohibits ragging in accordance with UGC and Tamil Nadu state regulations. Ragging is defined as any act that causes physical or psychological harm, fear, or embarrassment to a student, including:

  • Teasing, abusing, or playing practical jokes on a student
  • Causing hurt to a student
  • Asking a student to do any act or perform something that they would not willingly do
  • Any student found guilty of ragging will be dismissed from the college and may face legal consequences.

    Attendance and Punctuality:

    Students are expected to attend classes, functions, and extracurricular activities regularly and punctually. Attendance is marked hourly, and absence without prior permission is not allowed. Medical certificates are required for absences due to illness.

  • Regular attendance is essential for effective learning: Consistent attendance allows students to participate in class discussions, complete assignments, and benefit from the guidance of faculty members.
  • Punctuality demonstrates respect for others and the learning environment: Arriving late to class can disrupt the flow of instruction and be disrespectful to other students and the instructor.
  • Identification:

    Students must carry their ID cards at all times and present them upon request. Without an ID card, students will not be allowed into classrooms or examination halls.

  • The ID card serves as a form of identification and is essential for accessing college facilities and services
  • Students should keep their ID cards in a safe place and present them whenever required by college authorities
  • Classroom Conduct:

    Students should occupy their seats before the lecturer enters the class and stand up as a mark of respect when the lecturer arrives. Latecomers require permission from the HoD or Registrar.

  • Arriving early to class demonstrates respect for the instructor and other students
  • Standing up when the lecturer enters the class is a sign of respect and courtesy
  • Latecomers should obtain permission from the appropriate authority before entering the class to avoid disruption
  • Prohibited Activities:

    The following activities are strictly prohibited on campus:

  • Smoking: Smoking is harmful to health and can create a hazardous environment for others.
  • Using intoxicants or drugs: The use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited on campus and can have serious consequences for students' academic and personal lives.
  • Absenting oneself from classes without permission: Regular attendance is essential for academic success. Students who need to be absent should obtain prior permission from the appropriate authorities.
  • Participating in political or communal activities: The college campus should be a neutral environment free from political or communal affiliations.
  • Damaging or destroying college property: Vandalism and property damage are not tolerated. Students who damage or destroy college property will be held responsible and may face disciplinary action.
  • Sitting on parapet walls, steps, or staircases: These areas can be dangerous and may cause accidents. Students should avoid sitting in these areas.
  • Writing, scribbling, or painting on walls, desks, or other college property: Defacing college property is disrespectful and can create a negative environment for other students.
  • Meeting with outsiders during working hours: Meetings with outsiders during class time or other working hours can disrupt the academic environment.
  • Using foul language or behaving rudely towards staff members: Respectful behavior towards faculty and staff is essential for maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
